Your horse is a teacher

There's a kid who can't sit still in a room.

And there's your horse, doing not much in a paddock.

We put those two together, and something shifts for both of them.

Berkman Academy runs equine assisted therapy around Melbourne, working with kids, teens and adults who never got anywhere with talk therapy: autism, ADHD, anxiety. No riding. No couch. Calm work on the ground with a horse that tells the truth.

What we're looking for

A quiet, friendly pony or smaller horse, ideally under 15 hands. The calmer the better.

A round yard, arena or undercover spot.

And horses already living with you.

How it works

We start small. One or two clients, an hour or two a week.

You earn from the very first session, paid on the hours worked. No monthly fees, no lock-in, nothing to build.

Picture it: the horse that's been standing in the paddock eating hay starts paying its own way, doing the most meaningful work of its life.

A qualified counsellor runs every session, fully insured, with a Working with Children Check. We look properly at every horse before it works a day, and its welfare outranks the schedule, always.

We handle the clients, the bookings and the billing. You never chase a cent.

More than the money

The horse people we partner with tend to be the ones who always felt their animals had more to give.

This is that. Your paddock becomes the place a kid who didn't fit anywhere starts to come right, and your horse is the reason.

Imagine telling your friends what your horse did this week.

You're not renting us a yard. You're joining a community: the families, the counsellors, and the horse people who make this work possible.

The first step is just a visit

We come out, meet your horses, see the place, and we both work out if it's a fit. No cost, nothing owed.
